Our Lift Up Uganda Team visited Uganda in July and returned safely with a checklist of accomplishments. With thanks to our nine volunteers, we were able to work on four projects.
- We conducted two medical outreach clinics where we served 400-500 Ugandans.
- We taught at the St. Nektarios Nursery and Primary Schools, where 17 teachers, along with a head teacher, were involved. All 400 students were taught about Kindness and Body Awareness. There was a special session on puberty offered as well.
- Our clean drinking water project continues to flourish. We offered education and supplies to 600 families, bringing our new total of families served to 2,250.
- We reviewed and researched the possibility of converting pit latrines to dry compost toilets. We are doing a trial run with the teachers' stall pit latrine. This project will take additional time, research, and acceptance, but we have hope.
We hope this finds you well.
