Mission Trips

Lift Up Uganda sponsors Mission trips up to 3 times a year. Volunteers over the age of 18 are welcome to apply, by contacting Sue at Lift Up Uganda. These trips can be anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks in-country. Many people say that these mission trips have changed their lives in a positive way. Arrangements for air and ground travel, meals, and lodging are made by Lift Up Uganda to coordinate the teams.

Medical personnel such as physicians, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, health educators, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists are the most appreciated. Also, there is always a need for non-medical support volunteers on every team.

Educational personnel such as teachers, clergy, students of all types are most welcome. Working with the staff of the St Nektarios Health Center, St Nektarios Nursery and Primary School, Mothers Union, and Youth, and a variety of classes and retreats allow you to share your talents. The Clergy and their families are grateful for your interest and support.

Helping Mothers and Babies Survive- these courses designed by the World Health Organization and delivered through Global Health Initiative are currently given in two Uganda sites in Gulu and Iganga. These courses address the high mortality rate of Mothers and Newborns in this third-world country. Health care professionals and teachers are invited to teach Uganda health professionals, who then become teachers to share the information with others. Reducing the mortality rate is the ultimate goal.
